Transforming GNB Paraguay’s (former BBVA) Platform: From Dual Cores to a Unified CRM
About the company
Banco GNB Paraguay (former BBVA) has been operating for more than 100 years as an important contributor to the financial system. Their Universal Banking model aims to cater to all sectors of the economy, concentrating on Commercial Banking and Personal Banking by offering a wide variety of products and services supported by a highly efficient technological platform.
The challenge
With the merger between BBVA Paraguay and GNB Paraguay, it was necessary to update their Microsoft Dynamic CRM platform to the most recent version, Dynamics 365 v9.0 (On-Premises). With Microsoft Dynamics CRM, GNB has the power to scale and support its internal processes and achieve its strategies.
One of the biggest challenges of the project was operating with two different banking cores simultaneously. Ready to face the challenge, and after 5 years of working with BBVA developing processes, Tero by Nearsure hit the ground running, migrating and unifying processes in sales, customer service, and operations among others.
The solution
After careful evaluation of GNB’s needs, the team needed to find a solution to run two different banking cores simultaneously. To achieve this, an intermediate database was implemented to unify the data models of both cores into one that was compatible with Dynamics. Tero by Nearsure assigned a team of Dynamics consultants and experts to facilitate the platform migration to Dynamics 365 as well as to incorporate and adjust existing integrations. In order to execute a smooth transition, the project was divided into 4 phases, with the roll-up carried out incrementally.
Migrating to the latest version made further facilities integration with other systems possible. Tero by Nearsure helped GNB implement hybrid online-on-premise solutions so that they could make the most out of Power Platform’s capabilities and prepare for a total transition to the cloud in the future. The updated interface was more intuitive for users and included features such as improved security and performance, as well as enhanced 360 views of clients. These are just a handful of reasons why migrating platforms was the right path for GNB.
The results
Migrating to Dynamics 365 enabled further integration with other systems, including Office 365, Azure, Power BI, and more.
The updated interface improved user experience, security, and performance.
The hybrid solution facilitated a plug-and-play connection with various platforms, preparing for a future total cloud transition.
